The Organization of Women from Strumica (OZS) was founded in 1991 and for more than thirty years has been working to promote and advocate policies based on equal opportunities and gender equality, on non-discrimination and non-violence against women and girls.

The strategy of the Organization of Women from Strumica (OZS) focuses on improving the position of women and girls through representation, mobilization and strengthening of their capacities for inclusion in planning and decision-making processes, as well as on encouraging, promoting and advocating policies of an integrated approach for prevention and protection from gender-based violence.

We strive to ensure greater responsibility from decision-makers and institutions for the promotion of gender equality and the protection of women’s rights.

Our strategic objectives are also aimed at sustainable and professional work through the application and respect of procedures for transparent and accountable work, monitoring and evaluating the success of internal organizational work and through cooperation with women and girls from urban and rural areas, related domestic and international civil society organizations and with institutions on matters of common interest.

 

Beneficiaries

Women and girls from urban and rural areas, victims of gender-based violence, members and volunteers of the OZS, young people, civil society organizations and informal groups working in fields close to the Organization of Women from Strumica, external collaborators, decision makers, institutions, media and the general public.

Citizen`s association RUBIKON Skopje

Summary of organization’s strategic orientation

The association RUBIKON acts on:
• Promoting informal education among citizens, with a focus on children, youth
and professionals working with children and youth
• Development of civil society, democracy, and democratic institutions
• Promotion and advancement of human rights and freedoms, civil values, and the rights of vulnerable categories of citizens.

The focus for the next period is to continue the twenty-five-year commitment to greater
inclusion of children and youth in informal education.
RUBIKON continues to organize activities, training sessions, and educational workshops with children, youth, and their parents, as well as teaching staff about peer violence, reducing polarization among the young population, and strengthening personal integrity and coping with corrupt practices at a young age. The RUBIKON team will continue to strengthen the professional capacities of employees in the child protection system.
Through the accredited program „Coping with peer violence and cyberbullying“; by the Bureau for Development of Education, RUBIKON will continue to operate at a national level in the field of prevention and addressing peer violence for teachers, support services, and students in primary and secondary education.
Proposing initiatives, measures, and activities to competent authorities, institutions, and
professional services aimed at improving regulations in the areas of the Association activities.
Through the unique forum theater technique, RUBIKON continues to address social
problems and strengthens personal capabilities.
RUBIKON will maintain the established network and long-term cooperation with partner organizations and will foster new partnerships and collaborations.

Beneficiaries

High school students and teaching staff – they will gain insight, a clear understanding, and knowledge about the concept of corruption through forum theater performances. They will also acquire skills to cope with and report corrupt behavior. Awareness of the prevalence of corruption in all segments of society will be raised.
Young politicians – they will have the opportunity to build a unified perception of the actual situation with corruption in the country by sharing their views and opinions. They will develop enhanced personal integrity, individual responsibility, proactivity, and zero tolerance for corruption.
Employees in public administration – the Annual program in the field of prevention and dealing with corruption will be analyzed at the working meetings. They will gain insight into the actual situation, as well as the functionality and application of the Program with all planned activities.

Women Action’s – Radovish

Summary of organization’s strategic orientation

Women’s Action was founded in 2005 with the aim of creating favorable conditions for organized access and permanent social activity of women in the municipality of Radovish and beyond, ensuring adequate representation of women in all spheres of public and political life in the country, monitoring, implementation and application of international conventions and declarations for the protection of women and their rights, affirmation of the culture of living of women and the family, social and health education of the women, strengthening the socio-economic position of women at the local and national level and protecting women from domestic violence.
Bearing in mind that unequal opportunities in the access can lead to a large gender, social and economic gap, the strategic objectives of Women’s Action are focused on improving the position of women through the mobilization and representation of women, strengthening their capacities through education, encouragement and motivation for their active involvement in the process of policy making at the local level and prevention of gender-based violence and economic empowerment of women.

 

Beneficiaries

The activities of Women’s Action are aimed at strengthening of women and girls from urban and rural communities, victims of gender-based and domestic violence, unemployed, adolescents, women of all ethnicities, local women’s NGOs and institutions. The local governments of the municipalities Radovish and Konche also benefit because our strategic commitments leads to the fulfillment of the strategic priorities determined by the municipalities.

Association of citizens Media Plus Shtip

Summary of organization’s strategic orientation

Organization’s aim is to strengthen the civil society and through the media community to influence the social trends and social responsibility. Media Plus directs the media to perform their public function, independent of their ownership.
In addition, organizes promotional events and activities, bring citizens closer to the media world, achieve interactivity and communication in all parts of society.
They believe that the future of the democratic society in Macedonia is in a joint dialogue with all factors in social life. We are working to change the awareness of citizens about their influence in order to improve social life at the local, regional and national level.
The form of advocacy and lobbying on behalf of its constituents is through participation in working groups for adoption and amendments to legal solutions, debates, public events, focus groups and conferences.

Beneficiaries

From the implemented activities, the following will benefit: Youth, Parents’ Councils, schools, citizens-general public.

The activities of the project, that is, the educational workshops, directly involve young people and parents, who will listen, but also share experiences and views on modern and attractive topics, such as cyber security and privacy, digital abuse and manipulation.

Participating in the workshops is an opportunity for them to see that they are not alone and unique in these so-called digital incidents and attempts to violate their privacy.

The video lessons and the public campaign aimed at the wider education of the population about misinformation, as part of the project’s activities, is a continuation of the efforts for additional education and gives additional influence to the general public.

Volunteer fire department Sveti Nikole

Summary of organization’s strategic orientation

The strategic orientation of the organization is a contribution to raised public awareness, more responsible behavior of the entire population and increased coordination and cooperation with the relevant local, state institutions and the business community, in the direction of improved education of the population, especially the youth, with the aim of reducing risk factors causes of fires, natural disasters, traffic accidents, epidemics and the huge consequences caused by them on human and nature. Undertaking permanent direct and preventive campaigns to increase environmental awareness of the population for the protection of the environment and nature. Strengthened advocacy before the relevant state stakeholders for the adoption of the new Law on Firefighting, compatible with the most advanced firefighting services from the European Union, with the aim of improving the firefighting and rescue sector in the country. Formation of a national Network of Volunteer fire departments (VFDs), for successful representation before the relevant state and local stakeholders with the aim of obtaining constant and stable state financial support, promotion of mutual cooperation of the voluntary fire departments, as well as taking initiatives for future regional and continental connections in Networks. Promotion of gender equality and equal opportunities, for the active inclusion of women in the so-called “male professions”, in which ours is by far the first in the world. Continuous promotion of humanity, volunteerism and civic engagement. In the next period, our CSO, through its organs and bodies, will aim at improving human capacities, financial sustainability, transparency and accountability, the functionality of administrative bodies, improving internal procedures, increasing the visibility and recognition of the organization before potential supporters and donors, increasing of paid staff, number of volunteers and gender representation.

Beneficiaries

The ultimate benefit from all the activities and products from the work of our civic organization will be the entire community and nature, through the implementation of permanent complementary educational and informational campaigns, in front of educational institutions, the business community, relevant state and local actors and the general population, placing special emphasis on children and young people, to acquire basic knowledge for building life skills for correct reaction and action in the event of fires, other natural disasters, traffic accidents and epidemics. The necessity of implementing such campaigns is the lack of an appropriate educational program for fire safety in the state’s educational system. With direct actions of our fire department in the process of dealing with all types of incidents and through the realization of ecological and other socially responsible actions, we will positively influence the entire population to emphasize and promote forgotten social values: humanity, solidarity, volunteerism and civic activism. In the creation of public policies, we will put a strong emphasis on the inclusion of women in the so-called “male professions”.

During its 30 years of operation, TV TERA has implemented numerous projects and thus has gained great experience. Through various trainings and seminars our staff expands and upgrades their knowledge which has contributed our media house to be distinguished by high professionalism in its operations. Independent and professional, service to citizens, creator of public opinion in civil society. Production of own program and content in areas important to the community, development and promotion of media literacy, social responsibility, preservation of historical, cultural and natural resources, with an emphasis on environmental topics to encourage the increase of eco-awareness. Adapting to changes in the media system, which are due to the technological revolution and innovations.

Beneficiaries

Through the public information of the citizens of the Pelagonian region, we expect that the population will directly benefit from the information about the process of energy efficiency and energy security, as well as the Just Transition process, but at the same time the local authorities, as well as the scientific community originating from the University of Bitola . The business sector will receive more information on how to be an active participant in overcoming the energy crisis. There is also the non-governmental sector, which can, through networking with the non-governmental sector from neighboring Greece, jointly apply for energy projects, or educational projects in the field of energy efficiency and energy security.

The association protects, promotes and advances professional standards in the media by building capacities of journalists and strengthens the awareness and capacity of young journalists for them to take on the best possible role as innovative journalists respecting ethical norms and are activists for democracy.

Beneficiaries

Through the creation of media content (video information and topics) for young people to accurately inform them about topics in the areas of security and stability and good governance that will increase the level of engagement of young people in solving priority issues, will strengthen them to think critically and will make them more resistant to disinformation campaigns thus contributing to the creation of digitally responsible youth, resistant to cyber security risks which ultimately affects security and stability and good governance.

Institute for Urban Politics

Summary of organization’s strategic orientation

 

The Ministry of Space collective was founded in 2011 with the aim to contribute to the fight for just and democratic development of the cities. In the first years, we initiated and participated in the activation of several abandoned spaces for the needs of the community – Inex Film, Street Gallery, Cinema Zvezda, Magacin, etc. Through these experiences, we have developed models of democratic management of shared and common spaces, but also mechanism to institutionalize this type of activation in a participatory and transparent manner. In addition, we developed other programs that expanded the work of the organization in several additional directions – participatory urban planning, right to housing and just energy transition.

Beneficiaries

Apart from the very long experience among the organizations in Serbia that are involved in such a comprehensive way in urban development of cities, the Ministry of Space is distinguished by its unique position between, on the one hand, the interested professional public and civil society organizations, and on the other, citizens and local communities. Namely, this approach not only completes our understanding of the real situation, (opposite) interests and obstacles in the areas of spatial development of the city, but also strengthens the potential to contribute to systemic changes through networking and wider mobilization.

SHARE Foundation is a non-profit organisation established in 2012 to advance human rights and freedoms online and promote positive values of an open and decentralised web, as well as free access to information, knowledge, and technology. Our primary areas of activities are freedom of speech online, data privacy, digital security, and open access to knowledge and information. SHARE actively advocates for human rights approach to policies concerning digital rights, privacy and freedom of speech, monitors digital rights violations and educates the activists and the society on current digital rights issues, and provides training and pro bono help in the area of digital security.

Beneficiaries

The work of SHARE Foundation which is supposed to be carried out through this project is beneficial to activists and the society. Through its work, SHARE Foundation is shedding light on current trends in the digital sphere, fights for the prevention of policies intrusive to the right to privacy and strives to protect human rights of citizens stemming from digital space.
