Addressing cyber violence through creative workshops

In the city park of Strumica, N. Macedonia, a series of creative art workshops unfolded, each with a specific focus on addressing the critical issue of cyber violence targeting young individuals. These workshops, an important component of the #Share, Protect Yourself! project, supported by a Creative Box grant as part of the SMART Balkans project, aimed to harness the power of creative expression in the fight against cyber violence.

By providing a platform for artistic expression, the initiative sought to empower participants to voice their perspectives on this pressing issue, fostering a space where their thoughts could be translated into tangible works of art.

Integral to the overarching goal of the initiative was the desire to increase the capacity for youth activism. Through active participation in these artistic endeavors, young individuals were not only encouraged to express their concerns but also to become advocates for change. The workshops were strategically designed to involve participants in activities that promote and champion policies against online violence, with a specific focus on combatting violence directed at women and girls.

This multifaceted initiative aimed to cultivate a generation of informed and engaged youth, ready to take on the challenges posed by cyber violence.
