Description

The project aims to exert urgent pressure on national institutions to develop and adopt a standardized Rulebook for bicycle infrastructure. By adopting the Rulebook, all municipalities will be required to include bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure in future street and boulevard reconstruction projects, following unified standards aligned with European and international guidelines.

Project goals

  • Harmonization of standards – Introduction of unified rules for bicycle infrastructure in urban planning through the urgent adoption of a Rulebook on Bicycle Infrastructure
  • Institutional change – Provision of mechanisms for the implementation of bicycle infrastructure in all future street reconstructions.
  • Improvement of urban mobility – Encouraging sustainable transport through safe and functional bicycle paths.
  • Strengthening public awareness – Raising social support for the safety of cyclists and the importance of alternative means of transport
