SMART GAP: GENDER ANALYSIS

In today’s global society, gender equality remains a key challenge that spans all spheres of life. Advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls are not only moral and legal imperatives, but also key to achieving sustainable development, economic productivity and social cohesion. Gender analysis is fundamental research that aims to shed light on how gender and gender roles affect the lives of individuals in a particular social and economic context. Through this analysis, PRONI Center for Youth Development aim to identify key gender barriers and inequalities, to understand their causes and consequences.

The document focuses on various aspects of gender dynamics, including access to education, employment, health care, participation in political and public life, as well as exposure to (s)gender-based violence. In addition, the analysis examines how gender inequalities intertwine with other factors of discrimination, such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic position, age and disability, thus offering a comprehensive view of the complex challenges faced by different groups in the Brcko District of BiH.

The aim of this document is to serve as a platform and basis for the development of the Gender Action Plan of the Brcko District of BiH, policies, programs and interventions that promote gender equality and empowerment. Through analysis, PRONI Center for Youth Development want to ensure that all efforts are directed in the most effective way, taking into account the specific needs and circumstances of different genders and groups within society. This introduction lays the groundwork for deeper understanding and engagement with gender issues, emphasizing the importance of continued research, dialogue and action.

Through joint efforts, we can strive to create a more inclusive and just society for all citizens, regardless of their background, in our community.
