National Opening Conference in Montenegro

We continue with successful launching of opening conferences for Regional project “Smart Balkans – Civil Society for Shared Society in the Western Balkans” and today Podgorica, Montenegro was a great host.
“Today we officially announced a four-year presence in Montenegro and we invite all civil society organizations that identify as progressive, courageous and hardworking organization to follow our calls and propose innovative, user-based projects aimed at results that are systematic and will make the country a much prosperous place to live than in the previous period. Through the SMART Balkans project, we will support more than 100 organizations in Montenegro introducing 7 types of grants and other models to support the development of the sector.” – Dajana Cvjetković, Project Manager, CPCD.
Two very interesting panel sessions took place within the conference themed: Perspective of security and stability in the Western Balkans Region and Good Governance and EU integration in the WB Region: situation and role of CSOs.
As per words of Daliborka Uljarević from Center for Civic Education: “We operate on the principle of equalization so that as many organizations as possible receive funding from public funds and less attention is paid to real necessities of organizations”
The conference gathered more than 70 people and 7 panelists.
