As part of the project “Disability Alliances for Development of Inclusive Reforms in the Region (DADIRR),” a meeting was held on June 12th with members of two working groups: the Accessibility Group and the Political and Public Life Inclusion Group.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a detailed analysis and discussion of the current local legal and political frameworks related to accessibility and the inclusion of persons with disabilities. The working group members focused on examining the compliance of these frameworks with the standards set by the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
During the discussion, key challenges and barriers faced by persons with disabilities in their daily lives were considered, as well as existing legal and political measures that should support their full participation in society. Special attention was given to identifying areas of non-compliance and developing recommendations for necessary interventions to better align with international standards.
This meeting was an important step in the process of identifying and overcoming barriers affecting accessibility and inclusion, and in ensuring that local policies and laws fully reflect the obligations set out by the Convention.
