FAST FORWARD festival in eight Montenegrin cities

Following the Montenegrin premiere at the FAST FORWARD Human Rights Film Festival Montenegro 2023, due to the great interest of the audience, Centre for Civic Education (CCE), in collaboration with local partners, will screen the documentary film Mamula All Inclusive by Aleksandar Reljić in eight Montenegrin cities!

The screenings will take place according to the following schedule:

  • January, 23 at 19:00– Culture Centre, Mojkovac
  • January, 24 at 20:00 – Culture Centre, Bar
  • January, 25 at 19:00 – Kino Boka, Kotor
  • January, 25 at 20:00 – Nikšić Theatre, Nikšić
  • January, 26 at 19:00 – Culture Centre, Bijelo Polje
  • January, 29 at 19:00 – Hall ‘Park’, Herceg Novi
  • January, 30 at 19:00 – Culture Centre, Tivat
  • February, 1 at 19:00 – Memorial House ‘Crvena komuna’ (Red Commune) Petrovac, Budva

The film Mamula All Inclusive was filmed for almost seven years, from September 2017 to September 2022, capturing the transformation of the Lastavica Island and the Mamula fortress, located at the entrance to the Bay of Kotor, from a former concentration camp into an exclusive hotel complex. The film also follows the transformation of public opinion regarding this project, from the perspective of former camp inmate Ivo Marković, who, at the age of nine, was imprisoned in the camp under the command of Italian fascists lead by Benito Mussolini, and in the film, he along with other former inmates, NGO activists, and citizens, opposes this decision and begins the struggle to preserve the memory of the innocent victims.

Mamula All Inclusive was done with the financial support of the Film Centre of Serbia and produced by Greenfield Production in cooperation with Al Jazeera Balkans, as well as minority producers Core Dox and Centre for Civic Education (CCE).

FAST FORWARD festival is touring with the film Mamula All Inclusive in eight cities in Montenegro through the CCE programme supported by the Core Grant of the regional project SMART Balkans – Civil Society for a Shared Society in the Western Balkans, implemented by the Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD), Center for Research and Policy Making (CRPM), and the Institute for Democracy and Mediation (IDM), financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Montenegrin human rights film festival FAST FORWARD, the first and only one of its kind in Montenegro, aims to contribute to raising the awareness of citizens about the importance of human rights and their protection and improvement, as well as the value framework that encourages harmonious relations between different on what basis.
