Advocating Recommendations and Promoting Findings in Contribution Drafting for Monitoring Processes

ASTRA consistently provides crucial information on the human trafficking situation in Serbia, contributing to key international reports on trafficking and women’s rights, such as the U.S. Department of State’s TIP Report, the European Commission’s Progress Report on Serbia’s EU accession, and reports from UN bodies like ECOSOC and CEDAW. Reports including the TIP Report 2024, the European Commission’s Progress Report 2024, Kvinna till Kvinna’s 2023 Gender Analysis, the 2024 Enlargement Package input, and OHCHR CAT 2024 underscore the importance of precise, timely information to support effective responses to human trafficking at global, regional, and national levels.

The primary beneficiaries of this outcome include international organizations, governmental bodies, and state institutions. The development of this result was a collaborative effort involving the ASTRA project and policy teams, along with various partners and donors.

Ongoing advocacy and the promotion of findings through activities such as desk analysis, forums, structured meetings, and victim support are key to shaping future responses to human trafficking. Integrating these insights into international reports and monitoring processes helps influence policy, improve practices, and strengthen collaboration at the national level.

These efforts will underpin more effective interventions by providing evidence for decision-makers, raising awareness, and promoting accountability among governments and institutions. Continuous advocacy ensures that recommendations are not only acknowledged but acted upon, enhancing the effectiveness of anti-trafficking initiatives and driving lasting change.

Our commitment to advocating for these recommendations ensures that critical insights do more than just exist in reports—they actively shape policies and practices. By integrating our findings into international monitoring processes, we drive meaningful change and enhance the global response to human trafficking. Promoting our findings in key reports bridges the gap between data and action, making this advocacy essential for raising awareness and ensuring that recommendations lead to real, tangible improvements in combating human trafficking worldwide.
