On July 11, 2023, ANAD hosted a workshop for the Deaf and hard of hearing community, focusing on the role of the Municipality of Tirana. The event brought together 36 participants, including 20 young people, with the goal of enhancing their access to information about local government.
The workshop addressed the lack of information available to the Deaf and hard of hearing community about local institutions, their roles, and the services they provide. It highlighted the need for accessible information in Albanian sign language to ensure that everyone could access public services equally. Topics covered included the rights and duties of local institutions in Tirana and the public services they offered.
ANAD’s workshop was a key step in closing the information gap and promoting greater inclusion in local government processes.
