“For Social and Environmental Welfare” Organization Launches Citizen Energy Committee in Berat

The organization “For Social and Environmental Welfare” has launched the creation of a Citizen Energy Committee (CEC) as part of the local initiative “Energy Security through Mitigation of Energy Poverty in the Municipality of Berat.” A call for participation in the CEC has been announced, with the online meeting scheduled for August 30, 2023.

Energy is crucial for health and quality of life. Energy insecurity, driven by low incomes, has significant social, economic, and environmental impacts, contributing to increased poverty, social division, economic decline, and environmental degradation.

The online meeting will feature a presentation of findings and discussions on initiatives and programs from EU countries aimed at addressing energy challenges faced by vulnerable populations.
