GERMIN activists met fellow citizens in Graz and Vienna, Austria, to discuss Kosovo’s upcoming diaspora engagement strategy and the draft law on diaspora and migration, both set to be reviewed by the Government and Parliament of Kosovo.
Participants openly shared their concerns, demands, and insights, fostering meaningful discussions on key issues impacting the diaspora. These impactful conversations will play a significant role in shaping the main elements of these crucial documents, ensuring that the voices of the diaspora are heard in Kosovo’s policy-making processes.
This project aims to address the under-representation of diaspora communities in Kosovo’s policy-making processes, while enhancing the capacity of policy-making institutions and fostering effective partnerships. By actively engaging diaspora professionals and strengthening collaboration between the diaspora, government, and policy-making bodies, the project seeks to develop innovative, sustainable, and inclusive policies that address the complex challenges faced by Kosovo and its diaspora. Key outcomes of the project include shifting the thinking, actions, and capacities of stakeholders, which will lead to lasting improvements in policy development, engagement, and implementation.
