The DigiAdvance Kosova project has made a remarkable impact in advancing digital transformation across seven municipalities in Kosovo, with a clear focus on improving public service delivery, increasing citizen engagement, and bridging the digital divide between local and central authorities.
One of the project’s key achievements was the enhancement of digital skills among municipal officials. Through targeted training, municipal leaders gained crucial knowledge on how to use digital tools to streamline administrative processes and improve efficiency. As a result, local officials reported increased confidence in their ability to utilize technology, leading to faster, more accessible public services for citizens.
A major milestone was the implementation of digital platforms in municipalities that previously struggled with inefficient administration. In Prishtina and Gjakova, for example, digital services were introduced to improve access to public services, significantly reducing waiting times and increasing overall efficiency. These innovations led to notable reductions in bureaucratic delays, enhancing citizen satisfaction with local government services.
In addition to empowering municipal staff, the project also sought to raise student awareness of government digital platforms. A survey of 114 students from public and private universities was conducted to assess their engagement with digital services. The results revealed that while students were somewhat aware of the platforms, they were not fully utilizing them. The research highlighted gaps in the available services and provided recommendations to improve student participation and streamline academic and administrative processes in universities.
Moreover, DigiAdvance Kosova fostered collaboration between public institutions, civil society, and the media. Through the Talk Digital sessions held across the municipalities, discussions on digital governance challenges and opportunities helped build understanding and cooperation between various sectors. These efforts contributed to increased transparency and more effective local governance.
Ultimately, the DigiAdvance Kosova project laid a strong foundation for sustainable digital transformation in local governance. By empowering municipalities, officials, and citizens, the project has paved the way for a future where digital tools play an integral role in effective, transparent, and participatory governance across Kosovo.
