Conference: Service-Learning Award Ceremony BiH

On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Catholic School Center “St. Francis” in Tuzla, the conference “Service-Learning Award Ceremony BiH” was held.

This event brought together teachers, educators, and representatives of educational institutions who, through their dedication, initiatives, and projects, contribute to community development using innovative approaches in education.

The conference was an opportunity to especially highlight the finalists and winners of the regional Service-Learning Award over the past five years, who have made an outstanding contribution to education and the community through their work and initiatives.

Awards were presented to representatives of educational institutions that have distinguished themselves through exceptional practices and engagement in implementing Service-Learning.

Service-Learning is an approach that combines theoretical knowledge with practical solutions to real community problems, enabling youth to develop skills while making a tangible contribution to their surroundings.

The following educational institutions were awarded:

  • Private Preschool Institution “Sindibad”;

  • JU Mixed High School Živinice;

  • JU Primary School “Harmani II” Bihać;

  • JU Primary School “Đurđevik” Živinice;

  • JU Mixed High School Teočak.

This success would not have been possible without the dedication of teachers, educators, and all other educational professionals whose work and enthusiasm enable young people to actively participate in social change.

The ceremony was enriched with inspirational speeches and presentations, further motivating all attendees to continue advancing Service-Learning in the educational process.

Indeed, this was an excellent opportunity to recognize the efforts of educational professionals, exchange experiences, encourage the development of Service-Learning, and strengthen cooperation among educational institutions.
The award received by the representatives of these institutions represents recognition for excellence, creativity, and innovation in education.

MIOS Tuzla, as the organizer, provided everyone present with an opportunity to connect and gain motivation for new projects and engagement in their local communities.

The conference was highly successful in achieving its goal – celebrating best practices while inspiring all participants to dedicate themselves even more to Service-Learning and community engagement.

The conference is part of the 6th Service-Learning Week organized by the MIOS Tuzla, within the activities of the project ‘Giving and Receiving – Young Active Citizens for Peace and Prosperity,’ supported by the regional SMART Balkans grant.
