As part of the project “Urgent and precise training on the new developments in public procurement” the Association of Financial Officers of Local Governments and Public Enterprises -Veles organized four regional workshops aimed at improving knowledge and implementation of recent updates to North Macedonia’s Law on Public Procurement.
The workshops were held in Shtip, Skopje, Tetovo, and Kavadarci, bringing together 51 participants from municipalities, public enterprises, and local institutions across eight planning regions. The sessions focused on key topics such as legal changes, bid preparation, administrative checks, legal protection, and frequently asked questions in procurement procedures. The trainings were delivered by certified experts in the field, including Slavica Dimitrievska and Dr. Mare Bogeva-Micovska, who provided hands-on guidance, shared best practices, and answered practical questions from participants.
The goal of the workshops was to ensure that contracting authorities and procurement practitioners have the necessary knowledge and tools to align their procedures with the new legal framework. By strengthening institutional understanding of procurement processes, the project contributes to a more transparent, efficient, and accountable public procurement system in North Macedonia.
