Strengthening Public Awareness of Services for Victims of Gender-Based Violence

As incidents of violence against women continue to escalate, it is essential to implement sustained campaigns and initiatives that raise public awareness about the unacceptability of violence and the available services for victims of all forms of gender-based violence (GBV). Commemorating significant dates in the history of the women’s movement serves as a poignant reminder of the tragic impacts of violence on women’s lives. Additionally, disseminating information regarding the prevalence of violence and the services available is critical for monitoring trends and evaluating the response of relevant authorities. By fostering this awareness, we can strive towards a society that actively rejects violence and supports survivors.

The beneficiaries of this initiative include all women and girls in the territory of RS, and our partners comprise media and promotional agencies, radio and television stations, media providers, and newspapers.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Center for Support of Women (CSW) has proactively promoted its programs, particularly in conjunction with significant international observances such as International Women’s Day on March 8, SOS Telephone Day on May 16, and the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Gender-Based Violence. This year also marks CSW’s 20th anniversary, which has been celebrated through various promotional activities.

Our initiatives have included engaging visuals for social media, press releases, and guest appearances, resulting in 74 media announcements across internet portals, television, and print media. We developed and published visuals commemorating CSW’s 20 years of service, featuring a dedicated website banner and cover images for Facebook, alongside posts on Instagram.

Furthermore, CSW has established a presence on LinkedIn to expand our outreach. In collaboration with a group of female activists, we organized a fundraiser to acquire three air conditioners for the gynecology and obstetrics department of the General Hospital in Kikinda, reflecting our commitment to addressing local healthcare needs.

The challenge of distilling extensive data and information into a single visual representation is significant. As we strive for clarity and accessibility, we remain vigilant against overwhelming our audience with excessive information. This underscores the necessity of refining our visual communication strategies to ensure they are both informative and easily recognizable. We are dedicated to continually improving our approach, enhancing the effectiveness of our materials in conveying our message and raising public awareness of our initiatives.
