Pro.Tok21 has achieved a significant milestone in its commitment to energy transition and environmental sustainability in Smederevo. Their active involvement in the development of the National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) has paved the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future for the community.
Recognizing the importance of the NECP as a crucial framework for implementing energy transition strategies, Pro.Tok21 conducted two comprehensive surveys with local entrepreneurs. These surveys assessed energy efficiency practices and identified areas for improvement. The insights gained contributed to the public discussion surrounding the NECP, allowing citizens to voice their opinions and influence the final document.
Pro.Tok21 engaged a diverse range of stakeholders, including the general public, local factories, students, and activists. By organizing public events such as roundtables, discussions with students, and gatherings with journalists, they fostered an inclusive dialogue that emphasized the need for energy efficiency and renewable resources.
As a local partner of the Belgrade Open School and Institute RERI, Pro.Tok21 collaborated extensively to ensure that the perspectives of Smederevo’s residents were represented. Despite operating without local partners in Smederevo, their dedication to community engagement remained steadfast.
The finalization of the NECP marks just the beginning for Pro.Tok21. The organization is committed to continuing its advocacy for cleaner air and better energy practices in Smederevo. They plan to utilize the results of their surveys and research to inform and educate citizens and entrepreneurs about the importance of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources. Their ongoing work aims to influence local policies and drive sustainable change within the community.
