Summary of the project implemented by UZOR

The project proposal is based on the experience of UZOR, the findings of conducted research, and focus groups with key stakeholders held during the preparation of this proposal, aimed at reducing radicalization, foreign influence, and potential conflicts in Montenegro.

The overall goal of this project is to reduce radicalization, foreign influence, and potential conflicts in Montenegro. The project will contribute to achieving this goal by accomplishing the specific objective of improving public policies in the areas of combating radicalization, foreign influence, and conflict prevention, raising awareness about harmful public rhetoric, and promoting constructive public discourse.

Project goals

Beneficiaries

  • Representatives of political entities at the local and national levels;
  • Representatives of the media and journalists covering political and social issues;
  • Representatives of NGOs, especially organizations focused on human rights, democracy, and conflict prevention;
  • Representatives of the academic community studying topics related to radicalization and conflict;
  • Citizens of Montenegro, with a particular focus on youth, who are most vulnerable to radicalization and the influence of conflict-driven discourse;
  • Marginalized communities directly affected by the negative consequences of radicalization and foreign influence;
  • Institutions dealing with security issues, democratization, and conflict prevention.

Main activities

  • Conducted qualitative research and analyzed case studies on harmful public rhetoric that fuels conflicts;
  • Developed and published a policy brief with recommendations for improving public policies in the areas of combating radicalization, foreign influence, and conflict prevention;
  • Prepared, developed, and distributed a ten-minute film on harmful rhetoric in Montenegro;
  • Prepared, created, and published 10 visuals for social media;
  • Held a one-day Forum “UZORni Dialogue: Words Have Power,” with the participation of 30 representatives from target groups.
