Training for media representatives on human rights, discrimination and hate speech

Media and Diversity Institute Western Balkans, the Council of Europe, and the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality are organizing a training for media representatives focused on human rights, discrimination, and hate speech, with a particular emphasis on gender representation, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

During this training, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills in reporting on human rights, with a special focus on recognizing and combating hate speech and discrimination. The training will include practical examples, interactive sessions, and work with experienced experts in the fields of media and human rights.

Following the training, there will be an online mentoring phase and media content production. Mentors will provide support in selecting topics, angles, interviewees, and editing final products, which will then be published in the participants media outlets.
