Round table: “Local democracy in practice: Path Towards a Better Dialogue”

The Center for the Development of Non-Governmental Organizations as part of the project “Synergy for good governance in local communities” is organizing the Round Table “Local Democracy in Practice: Path Towards a Better Dialogue”. The aim of the round table is to encourage dialogue between state administration bodies, local self-governments and civil society with the aim of improving citizens’ participation in decision-making. The round table will be held in Podgorica.

The Analysis of the cooperation of local self-governments and non-governmental organizations in 2023 will be presented as part of the round table. The presentation of the analysis will serve as an introduction to the panel in which the capacity of citizens and civil
society to participate in decision-making processes at the local level will be discussed. The second panel will focus on the new Law on Local Self-Government, which is currently being drafted, and which should provide an improved legal framework for the mechanisms of citizens and civil society participation in the decision-making process at the local level.
